What a year it was

We kicked off 2022 with 3 big goals:

1. 1Build the all-in-one platform for community builders by expanding from asynchronous discussions to chat, courses, live streams, events, and more.
2. 2Serve more people by supporting iOS and Android, as well as multiple currencies.
3. 3Build for the future by rewriting our front-end codebase and redesigning the user experience. No pressure.

With that, our tiny but mighty team of 40 was ready to take on the year.

We launched live streams, the most meaningful way to engage with your community in real-time. Whether you’re broadcasting a Q&A to hundreds or delivering a live training to just a few, you can now use Circle to go live to your members.

We built chat spaces so you can engage in organic, real-time conversations with your members without juggling multiple platforms, or having to choose between async and real-time platforms.

Replaces: Slack, Discord

We unveiled Circle 2.0, our fresh new look designed to make room for exciting features like courses, chat spaces, space covers, and custom themes. It’s beautiful, easy to use, and built to take Circle into the next era of growth.

The Circle Community held its first space design contest. Over 50 Circlers came together to showcase their best space.

Our iOS app got a big upgrade to make it even easier for members and community owners to connect on-the-go! Create live streams, message members from their profile, search the community, and more.

We released private live streams, making it possible to go live to specific members and spaces.

We launched step-by-step playbooks and templates to level up your community, featuring tips and guidance from our most successful customers.

The Circle team came together in Cascais, Portugal, for our second company offsite. We explored the town, enjoyed great food, and did a little work too 🙂

We released the ability to close comments, raise hands during a live stream, and the ability to download chat logs.

We redesigned the Circle Community from the ground-up to create a more immersive experience with Circle 2.0 – including a brand new (and wildly popular) tutorials space.

We launched community-powered courses, making Circle the one true product you need to engage your students, foster connections, and grow your business.

We announced multi-currency support, including CAD, AUD, EUR, GBP, and BRL.

We shared one of our most life-enhancing features yet: the ability to draft & schedule posts in advance.

We wrapped up the year with some major surprises like the ability to host unlimited members, add images and GIFs to courses, and set up profanity filters.

We transformed our acclaimed Chart Your Course bootcamp into Circle’s first-ever self-paced course!

Our year-end gifts to the Circle Community: Circle’s Android App officially launched on the Play store, and we doubled the number of live room/streams participants!
